Traditional blend made mainly with local varieties Carignan and Grenache and supplemented by a small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE VINEYARD

Wine made in the DO Empordà. When Sumarroca winery wanted to make wine in the denomination of origin Empordà, we searched for an area in which the imprint of the ground makes the wine well defined. We chose the area of Pau, in the Alt Empordà region, located near the Mediterranean Sea and the foothills of the Sierra de Rodes, which guarantees a wide range of land, from coarse sand to slate and granite, with diversities and different specificities in the characteristics of the wines.

TASTING NOTES

Cherry colour of good intensity. Very fruity intense aroma with notes of berries and cherry jam. The smokiness of aging, very subtle, which provides adequate complexity to the wine. The palate is very soft and velvety wine with good structure and very fruity. It has a long and pleasant aftertaste.

PRODUCTION

Vinification of the varieties is done separately. Macerated in tanks for 15 days to extract the maximum varietal characteristics. Alcoholic fermentation in done at 26 ° C and subsequent malolactic fermentation at 20 ° C. Once this is complete the wine is put, always separately, in small 225 litre barrels for a small aging of only 6 months in oak. After this time, the wine is bottled and left to stand a few more months in the bottle to finish rounding and achieve the right quality.
