The prestigious Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships (CSWWC) has awarded a Gold Medal to the cava Nuria Claverol Homenatge 2015 of Sumarroca (Do CAVA). This award is the highest recognition in this competition.

The Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championship is the only international sparkling wine competition. The tasting takes place blindly and has a jury composed of Tom Stevenson, founder and president of the competition and considered the world’s largest expert in sparkling wines, as well as Esci Avellan MW and George Markus.

This recognition is the result of the work that the entire team of Sumarroca dedicates to producing great wines on three pillars: Respect for the environment and sustainability, tradition and indigenous varieties.

Variety: Xarel·lo old vines from Peretes plot at Monistrol d’Anoia, Sumarroca estate. Organic.

Soil: gravely piece of land. Old vines trained in gobelet style.

This is a very special cava that is named after the founder of the winery, Carles Sumarroca. The cava has a dedication from the three children to their mother: “This is a tribute to our mother; the love for the land is a constant in her life. ” Cava comes from a plot of Xarel·lo selected from all that we have based on criteria of high quality and personality.

Unique and very intense aroma with mineral notes and roasted varieties that gives it a unique combination. The palate is extremely tasty with fine bubbles that melt integrating the cava to give adequate complexity. It begins with high fruitiness and finishes with very interesting fresh notes and minerals.
