Aflote

Aflote, corks for a dignified life.

The Aflote association was founded to help social integration and reduce environmental impact. By recycling corks, Aflote creates jobs for people from disadvantaged groups.

Corks are one of Sumarroca’s main raw materials, and it donates the surplus corks from the production line and from the wines used during wine tourism visits.

After collection by Aflote, the corks undergo a transformation process in a recycling plant and the material is returned to the organisation, which creates new products for the restaurant and catering sector and sells them through local companies.

More than 250 restaurants, hotels, bars, food service companies, cafés and wineries collaborate with this initiative, in which leading artists and designers contribute their talent to creating various items.
