Characteristics of the vineyard

This wine comes from combining the personality of two of our estates Sumarroca and Sabartés. The Sumarroca estate is located between the towns of Sant Sadurní d'Anoia and Piera and, therefore, the most northern part of the denomination of origin. The soil contains high concentration of limestone and a large amount of clay. The other wine is produced from the Sabartés estate which is located in Banyeres del Penedes, south of the denomination. This property is practically situated at sea level and is heavily influenced by the breezes which give the personality and characteristics of Mediterranean wines.

Tasting notes

On the nose we notice the aroma of ripe summer fruit, peach, pear, lychee, grapes and floral notes of white flowers, jasmine, orange blossom, rose and azalea. The palate is opulent, creamy, with an aromatic aftertaste. Balanced and round. Harmonious sensations.

Production

The vinification is done separately according to the varieties, harvested at the optimal point of analytical ripeness and by tasting the grapes. Once harvested a pre fermentation maceration is done at 10 ºC for Gewurztraminer and Muscat varieties in order to extract the maximum potential varietal. The soft pressing and decanting by gravity precede a fermentation at 14 degrees that lasts from 20 to 22 days. At the end of the fermentation a racking for keeping fine lees is done in tanks for four weeks to give the wine complexity, harmony and an intense aftertaste, some of the basic characteristics of our wine.
