Sumarroca presents Letargia 2012 at the BWW
Letargia, the long-aged cava from Bodegues Sumarroca

Subirats, February 6th, 2023. – Bodegues Sumarroca presents at Barcelona WineWeek 2023 Cava Letargia Gran Reserva 2012, with 10 years of ageing that is defined as a sober, elegant and characterful cava, a bet to highlight long-ageing cavas.
The BWW will take place from the 6th to the 8th of February at the Montjuïc Complex of the Fira de Barcelona. The fair highlights the product, the characteristics of the territory and sustainability, the values representative of the essence of the Sumarroca Group.

A cava with a history
The 2012 vintage, with a well-distributed rainfall, determined a slow maturation that defines this cava as a sober, elegant and characterful Gran Reserva.
The time of lethargy, the period of rest and latency of the vine, gives its name to this cava of 10 years of ageing and maturation that stands out for its aromatic intensity, white fruit and flint, accompanied by toasted and subtle notes of aromatic herbs. The vintage is composed by 4,299 bottles.

Tasting note:
Bright yellow cava with golden trim. Good aromatic intensity where the aromas of white fruit and flint are accompanied by toast and subtle notes of aromatic grass. It is a sober and elegant cava but with character. In the mouth, the fleshy stone fruits appear, it is tasty and gluttonous, but with nerve. In the aftertaste, the pastry and toasted notes reappear and give it longevity.
