We are super proud to announce that Bodegues Sumarroca is SMETA certified. Ensuring a great work to our team and a sustainable impact of our activity in the environment are our greatest goals. Therefore, SMETA audit has been a natural step in our corporate social responsibility.
SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) is an ethical audit methodology which encompasses all aspects of responsible business practice enabling our business to assess our site and offer a greater transparency of our supply chain.
SMETA assesses a site based on their organisation’s standards of labour, health and safety, environment, and business ethics. These are key areas for assessing an organisation’s responsible business practices and meeting social compliance. Understanding business practices at a site is crucial to ensure the activity is operating sustainably and complying with socially responsible principles.
SMETA is an international certification and a multi-stakeholder initiative with an audit format that can be easily shared as SMETA reports are published in the SEDEX system, ensuring transparency and efficiency.
Bodegues Sumarroca’s SMETA audit has been conducted against four auditing pillars.
- Labour Standards
- Health & Safety
- Business ethics
- Environment
These criteria were assessed receiving an excellent final report, a Corrective Action Plan (CAPR) containing complementary positive observations about our sustainable values and our influence in the environment.
